Porn 4 Charity

October 9, 2012 70

There’s a quiet revolution occurring in the porn industry. It’s not easy to spot, but look closely and you’ll see the tide changing.

Porn for charity and social change is gaining more and more momentum. There’s the whole Pornhub attempt at Breast Cancer Awareness (which fell through). And in the last few weeks I’ve heard of 2 new porn sites prepping for launch. One is a user-submitted site of real people having real sex (not porn sex). The other is a tube site that donates all revenues to charitable causes.

MakeLoveNotPorn.tv is still in beta mode, but it shows potential. Users upload videos of themselves having real sex (they stress this a lot), for which they get a $5 curation fee. After that, they keep 50% of all profits their video makes.  Visitors that want to watch have to rent clips (for up to 3 weeks), also for $5.

MakeLoveNotPorn.tv even has real gay couples

The site is based around the fact that people are so addicted to porn they even make love like porn stars. And this is not how real people make love, says founder Cindy Gallop. The 52 year old says she noticed a creeping trend when she dated guys half her age – and they all performed sex like a porn scene.

Those porn scenes we shoot are fun, lots of fun, but would I say that’s what feels best for women? Probably not. Even our actresses admit porn is “a performance” and sex is something more.

So I don’t really mind Ms. Gallop trying to change the minds of the youth. Its ok to jizz in a girl’s eye if she’s already signed off on it beforehand and she’s being paid. Its another to just spring a load out of nowhere to someone you’re being intimate with.

The other site is Come4.org. It’s still being funded for development, but this one is even simpler. All revenues generated by the site will be used towards charities. Videos are uploaded by performers themselves – and each video category is aligned with a cause. So if you watch a blow job video and that category is aligned with animal rights in Malaysia, the ad revenue will go toward that cause (and yes I made that charity up).

Do you see anything wrong with donating porn money to charity? I don’t . This industry makes a lot of money. Might as well do some good while we’re at it.

Let’s hear some ideas of using porn for social change. Maybe you’ll see a new BangBros site up 😉
