Proceed With Caution

Proceed With Caution

It’s happened for many years to many people. You’re at a bar or a club, relaxing with friends, having drinks, and someone catches your eye from across the room. You approach each other, you vibe, you kiss, and eventually end up at one or the other’s place or at a hotel. You get caught up in the heat of the moment and you’re making out and taking off each other’s clothes just waiting to experience full on bliss from the warmth of the two bodies joined together during an all nighter of great sex. You’re not even thinking; Autopilot is on. We’ve all been there multiple times in our lives and each time feels like it’s the first.

You part ways the next day. Sometimes people have switched numbers and have continued that little trend a few more times and for some it was a window of opportunity that happened just that once and they couldn’t miss it. For some the moments were very special on some levels and for others the experience is far from memorable. They notice a difference in their bodies. Changes that they can’t explain. Maybe an open sore that wasn’t there before. It started out as one, but now there’s some sort of outbreak. For some it was physical weakness, flu like symptoms, and rapid weight loss. They go to their doctor and he draws their blood for some testing. The results are in. They have an STD.

The individual reflects back to everyone they had unprotected sex with only to realize that it more than likely was multiple partners. They’ve messed up the rest of their lives because now they have to live with a disease as a result of making a poor judgement call and not taking the time to think and protect themselves just for a minute. As previously stated, we’ve all made bad judgement calls when it comes to sexual encounters, especially with total strangers. Each time is a crap shoot and you don’t know if you’re gonna roll sevens, elevens, or snake eyes. Even I have, and as a result of “growing up”, I’ve had to change my ways because there’s no way in hell I want to end up with some disease. Not so much as far as the suffering because we all suffer in different ways from different things, but I couldn’t bear the look on my mom or sister’s face if I ever fucked up in such a way that was gonna make them suffer more than me. Eventually one’s pain will end, but they will carry the pain until they kick the bucket.

My point in bringing all this up is due to the fact that there have been a few issues in the industry recently and I felt it’s a responsibility to the fans to make it a point to get a message across. Life is no joke! Sex is the greatest feeling in the world and I would love to bang as many chicks in the world as possible, but the reality is that as one gets older we tend to live a little more consciously of life in general which makes going through changes happen organically. The harsher part of that reality is realizing how one slip up with the wrong random sex partner is all it’s gonna take to change your life in the most dramatic fashion possible. You’ve gotta take responsibility for your life as well as others because there’s no telling when you’ve caught something and passed it on to others.

Ladies and gentlemen, make sure to protect yourselves at all times. You must also be a little more cautious. Use better judgement too. And as crazy as this sounds coming from me, there’s no shame in being abstinent. I know what you’re saying, “Abstinence? I’d die or kill myself if I can’t fuck once a week!” Yeah well, you won’t unless you actually commit suicide. And either way you’re gonna die. The question is do you want to be remembered for living a long and healthy life or as the person in your family who was the fuck up, lived in shame, and died of AIDS? Wherever you go from there it’s a choice I leave to you. Keep the eye high people; peace!

The irony of what’s going on in the industry right now is that the issues for the affected performs occurred outside of work. These are the same performers that test themselves every 2 weeks or month for industry purposes. If they can’t appreciate the benefits if being safe what hope is there for the larger young/uneducated population. Wrap it up!!!
